Wrist Check: Oscars 2025 Red Carpet

The 97th Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, was not only a celebration of cinematic excellence but also a showcase of exquisite fashion and accessories. While the main highlight of the Oscars is naturally its awards, the red carpet prior to the show was equally as captivating. Clothing and accessories come hand-in-hand, even more so on the star-studded red carpet, where jewelry and watches can elevate an entire outfit.

Timothée Chalamet has once again caught the eyes of discerning horophiles with his unconventional styling of timepieces. Previously, he left many in awe at the 2025 SAG Awards last week, where he wore a Cartier Tank Sautoir pendant as a bolo tie. Despite losing to Adrien Brody in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category, Chalamet’s red carpet-appearance was radiant. Softly accentuating his custom Givenchy butter-yellow suit were slim and elegant pieces from Cartier, which includes the Cartier Bagnoire Ref. 1960 wristwatch from the Byzantine Collection in 1994.

From the 18k Canopus Gold Speedmaster Moonwatch on Colman Domingo to Robert Downey Jr’s Seamaster Aqua Terra in Sedna Gold, OMEGA continues to be another favorite among many gentlemen on the red carpet. Meanwhile, Andrew Garfield dazzled the crowd with his understated yet impeccably put-together look. Dressed in luscious chocolate hues, the actor wore a pink gold Reverso Tribute Duoface Calendar from Jaeger-LeCoultre, complemented with a brown leather strap.

Also sportin Cartier on the night is Sebastian Stan, who paired a diamond-set bezel, rose gold Cartier Santos Dumont with a classic tux. English actor Joe Alwyn, a member of the key cast from the multi-Oscar-nominated film, The Brutalist, also showed up in a failsafe black tux, complimented by a 37mm Bulgari Bulgari wristwatch in yellow gold.

On the contrary, Jeff Goldblum opted for a more glamorous choice with the Yiqing Yin x Vacheron Constantin Égérie Moon Phase concept watch, which boasted a gentle lilac hue that echoed the purple details of his outfit.

As for the ladies, a few notable mentions include Coco Gauff’s diamond-encrusted Rolex Lady-Datejust, Michelle Yeoh’s snow-set Richard Mille RM 07-01 as well as Raye’s frosted Royal Oak Mini from Audemars Piguet.

Last but not least, director Jon M. Chu has once again worn his 1970s stainless steel Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3579-1 — a personal vintage piece that he was also previously spotted in at the 30th Critics’ Choice Awards.
