The Project 50/50 - C2H4 x Vans "Enlighten" Project Receives a Global Release Date
Featuring takes on the Style 36 and SK8-Low.
Following a month long exhibition at Vans’ Shanghai boutique in TX Huaihai, the Project 50/50 – C2H4 x Vans “Enlighten” Project now has a global release date.
Part of Vans’ collaboration centered “Project 50/50,” the C2H4’s “Enlighten” contribution is inspired by the “Age of Enlightenment,” which was an intellectual and philosophical movement that dominated the world of ideas in Europe during the 17th and 18th centuries. A big part of the liberty, progress, toleration, fraternity, constitutional government and separation of church and state we now see today, the collaboration celebrates the freedom of partnership born out of the opening of wisdom.
The Vans Style 36 “Trailblazer” from the collaboration was designed for the “UNDERCLASS” in C2H4’s fictional Post Human Era future civilization. Applying a destructive and washing process, the shoes feature a worn-out metal silver ring at the heel and layered effect. The rugged look of the shoe is continued with the metal rivets at the eyelets and thicker and wider laces increase the durability element. The accompanying Vans SK8-Low “Subconscious” model is marked by a black glue-covered sole, waxed white shoelaces and detachable leather coverings on the shoelace system and heel that alter the silhouette. Branding marked ECCO Temperature Sensitive Leather is applied to the tongue of the shoes to note the temperature in environments.
Priced at $275 and $295 USD respectively, the Project 50/50 C2H4 x Vans Style 36 “Trailblazer” and SK8-Low “Subconscious” from the “Enlighten” Project will be exclusively available globally on C2H4’s website.
