As Coachella makes a buzzy return to Indio after a brief hiatus, festival-goers encountered a motley of photo-worthy moments. Just in time for desert-roaming music festivals, Ray-Ban has released a limited-edition run of its first smart glasses, Ray-Ban Stories, which were created in collaboration with Meta. With Ray-Ban Stories, festival goers can enjoy all of Coachella’s show-stopping moments while taking photos and videos hands-free and sharing with their followers.
Donning the Ray-Ban Stories, team members from HYPEBEAST captured their favorite artists, posed for outfit pictures that showed their sunglasses and explored the art activations at Coachella. Inspired by the sunsets that serve as the festival’s backdrop, the festival edition Ray-Ban Stories are offered in the brand’s signature Wayfarer style with shiny blue frames and an orange lens. Other sunglasses styles within the 28 variations of Ray-Ban Stories include the retro Round and Meteor frames, which suit a wide range of festival styles.
To match the futuristic capabilities of Ray-Ban Stories, the brand also planned an activation called “Ascension” to offer a dreamy audio-visual experience. The immersive maze was decked out in shifting neon lights that created an impressive setting for the glasses’ first-person perspective photography. Activated by voice control or the touchpad on the eyewear, the HYPEBEAST team experimented with snapping photos and connecting to Facebook View, the glasses’ companion app, to seamlessly share content.

After the final act of the night finished its set, Ray-Ban Stories came in handy when trying get in touch with friends or find rides home. The smart glasses include three built-in microphones and discrete, open-ear speakers for switching between music performances and essential phone calls. By trying out the latest models in wearable technology, the typical festival experience is simplified so fans can pay more attention to the memories that matter the most.
