The Life and Crimes of Pro Skater Fabian Alomar
Alomar shares his stories with Mark Gonzales and Kareem Campbell, and even actor Danny Trejo recounts personal anecdotes.
The Berrics is proud to present its latest documentary series, this time focusing on Los Angeles native pro skater Fabian Alomar.
For those who unfamiliar with the LA skater, Alomar came into the skate scene in the early 90s, turning pro and riding for such brands as Vans, Menace Skateboards, Spitfire Wheels and more. In the documentary, he walks through his journey to becoming sponsored, which began humbly from street skating for XLarge until a fateful moment he was introduced to Mark Gonzales and his brand at the time, ATM Click.
During the later years of his skate career, Alomar divulges his stints with crimes – theft, robberies, car jackings – which did or didn’t equate to jail time. Alomar goes into further detail on larger convictions, including one of kidnapping. The positive twist to the story is how he was able to shorten what would’ve been 20+ years in prison down to seven, thanks to the support from his colleagues in the skate industry.
Check out Part 1 of “The Fabian Alomar Story” above, which features Fabian Alomar himself, testimonials from friends like Danny Minnick, and even Hollywood actor Danny Trejo. Part 2 is also live now on The Berrics.
