Pennywise beats Spider-Man and “Fat Thor” to take the top spot.

With Halloween rapidly approaching, Google has revealed the halloween costume ideas that have been searched for most frequently. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the list is pop-culture heavy, with films and series including IT: Chapter 2, Stranger Things and Spider-Man all featuring near the top.
The IT character of Pennywise has been named the most-searched solo costume for Halloween 2019, followed by a standard witch outfit in second and Spider-Man in third. Elsewhere, Chris Hemsworth’s “Fat Thor” from Avengers: Endgame has seen searches rise by 4,600% while Stranger Things‘ Demogorgon has seen a surge of 300% in searches and the “Scoops Ahoy” outfit has also proved popular.
The most popular search for a couple’s costume is Lilo and Stitch, with Mario and Luigi and Rick and Morty also both appearing in the top ten. Google also reports that Descendants is top of its group-related searches, sitting above Fortnite in second with Stranger Things, Toy Story and Star Wars all ranking inside the ten most-searched group costumes.
