UC Berkeley Will Soon Be Offering a Course on Frank Ocean
Offering “insight into the artistry.”
[gallery columns="3"]A course on Frank Ocean called “Brain Like Berkeley” will take place this Fall at the University of California, Berkeley. Pitched by student, Preya Gill and her roommate Deborah Chang, the two hope to offer “insight into the artistry” behind the musician’s work. Course material will take an intellectual approach, dissecting the philosophy, poetry, politics, historical influences and symbolism involved in not just his songwriting, but also visual execution and live performance.
Registration is officially open, according to a Tweet shared by Gill this past Friday. Her endeavor has also received approval from Ocean’s family, with his brother and mother showing support in a retweet of the post on their pages. Hopefully Frank will be giving them new material to discuss, as he teased new music in a cryptic Tumblr post earlier this year.
In other music news, Nas shared the full credits to his recently released album, Nasir.
