Watch This Brilliant Animation of 'The Wire'

The 96% Rotten Tomatoes-rated show gets a creative tribute.

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard news of HBO’s hit show The Wire, which completed airing back in 2008. Animator Elliot Lim has created a special video that pays tribute to the hit Baltimore, Maryland-set crime drama TV series by illustrating the show’s opening credits as an animated rendition. The creative short matches each scene shot-for-shot, and also features the show’s familiar anthem that covers the Tom Waits’ famous 1987 song, “Way Down in the Hole.”
