'Mafia III' Worldwide Reveal Trailer

Take-Two Interactive is going a different route with its latest game than that of the prototypical American mafia story, ditching the flashy suits, slicked-back hair and locales like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles in favor of a new take on organized crime. Set in 1968, Mafia III puts players in control of new protagonist Lincoln Clay. A multiracial veteran of the Vietnam War, Clay plies his trade in the deep south of New Orleans, working for the so-called “Black Mob” in the Bayou before seeing his newly-adopted family wiped out by the Italians as he himself is shot and left for dead. Clay then sets out on a vengeful rampage, devastating the Italian Mob and creating a power vacuum for organized crime in the city — one that he himself is more than happy to fill. Given the character and setting, this ain’t exactly Goodfellas.

Mafia III — the first installment in the series since 2010 — is due out next year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
