A couple months back, rising Compton talent Boogie dropped off the smoldering, speaker-shattering “Oh My.” With over 600,000 views charted for that song’s video and a new full-length project on the way, Boogie delivers up some heartstrings-tugging substance in the form of a new single entitled “Make Me Over.” The song features D’anna Stewart on vocal duty and production by Keyel and Dart, as well as an appearance by his own son. “Oh My” might work as an accessible, appropriate soundtrack for your turn-up and car-rides, but this one’s an essential, necessary piece of listening that could never work as background music or easy listening. The street-life Boogie described in his past single yielded something catchy, easier to digest and more social media-friendly; the lost lives, frustration, intensity and anger contained in the picture painted on this new song dig deeper and demand more. You can check out “Make Me Over” above. Boogie’s project The Reach will arrive on June 24. Most recently, another Leftoverz affiliate of Boogie’s dropped off a new single of his own.
