A Kickstarter campaign looks to reinvent an everyday item which has remained unchanged through its long existence — the umbrella. KAZ Designs challenges the current mechanics of the protective apparatus by flipping it inside out. The result is a a drip free and wind resistant umbrella capable of being opened in confined spaces. To avoid being labelled a gimmick, the KAZbrella supplements its innovative patented engineering with an intelligently designed silhouette which looks similar to its predecessor. Prior to this project, the Cyprus-born, Britain-residing pioneer had a successful career as an aeronautical and offshore engineer. Made with aircraft grade aluminum on its shaft, lightweight fibreglass on its spokes, and a premium double canopy with hydrophobic coating, the KAZbrella can be supported through its Kickstarter page here.
