Project Fi is the latest venture introduced by Google that aims to reinvent the wireless experience. As you may well know, network strength is determined by location. For example, at home your Wi-Fi may be the strongest connection and on your commute to work, a cellular network may be the strongest. Project Fi intelligently connects people to the strongest networks depending on location. For example if you receive a call over Wi-Fi and then leave the hotspot, the call will seamlessly transition to a cellular network so the call is not disrupted. Another feature offered with Project Fi is that your phone number will live in the cloud, creating the ability to take a phone call or send a text on any phone, tablet or laptop. The service is being offered for $20 USD a month which includes talk, text, Wi-Fi tethering and international coverage in 120+ countries. Cellular data costs $10 USD per GB, however if you fail to use the entirety of your purchased allowance, the remainder will be credited to your account.
