In need of a solution that would make aerial filming possible in the most remote places without the hassle of syncing a drone pilot, cameraman and rider together, Squadrone System developed the fully autonomous HEXO+ camera drone. Before, if you wanted to record your solo adventure you would have typically adorned a wearable camera such as a GoPro, yet that limited your footage to a first person POV. This intelligent drone however is capable of flying, filming and following its subject all by itself. Controlled by an iOS or Android powered smartphone, its user can set specific perimeters for the camera to follow, including its distance from the subject and its position in the sky relative said subject. Additional details include a top flight speed of 45 mph, a foldable hexacopter design, 15-minute flight intervals, the ability to shoot 50 meters away, trajectory anticipation, and a GoPro compatible mount. Although HEXO+ has already reached its Kickstarter goal, there are still plenty of rewards left before the campaign comes to a close on July 15.
