PREMIERE: Raury - God's Whisper (Gianni Lee Remix)

We have linked up with rising producer and beat architect Gianni Lee to premiere his latest, a remix of Raury‘s breakout effort “God’s Whisper.” Judging by the sound of Gianni Lee’s rework, it may appear as though he had sweat-drenched dancefloors in mind when he was concocting this, but the message behind this is a bit different. In an e-mail, Lee broke down his reasoning for the remix with the following statement:

With the recent events in the news concerning Mike Brown, Eric Garner and the continuous Police harassment problems in my hometown of Philadelphia I felt inspired to build this remix from God’s Whisper, a track that is already super inspirational for these critical times. This is a Big Tune…. just listen.

Utilizing sounds typical of dance music as a way to make uplifting music isn’t exactly a new approach, but Gianni Lee’s labeling of this as a “Big Tune” rings true. This is electronic music as a rallying call, not just club music made for the sake of landing a hit.
