Crossing the threshold into his second collection, Jerry Lorenzo pushes forward in carving out a grungy, layered and draped aesthetic for Fear of God. Twisting basic elements to result in uniquely proportioned garb, the line distills luxurious fabrics into a wearable array of gear that has struck a chord with many. One of the brand’s greatest strengths lies in one piece matching seamlessly with the next to create an appealing sense of balance; and this was further illustrated by Jerry’s vision for a full “Brothers Keeper” lookbook, styling flannels, ribbed tops and layerable pieces into an appealing presentation. Through early offerings, Jerry and Fear of God have set the stage for future successes, while an apparent affiliation with DONDA and the surrounding clique hasn’t hurt the brand’s appeal on street level. Amongst Jerry’s Essentials are a black Fear of God bomber jacket of course, matched with a reconstructed 1-of-1 Givenchy backpack by Fit & Supply, two popcorn chains from KG&Co, and the all-important WWJD bracelet.
