Despite an extended hiatus in the mid ’80s until just recently, seminal punk band Black Flag has had a defining role in the intersection of art and music. In episode one of MOCAtv‘s The Art of Punk, several choice interviews are presented that go into depth the history behind Black Flag’s strong artistic interest. The ever iconic four bar logo is dissected as is the subsequent work by artist Raymond Pettibon which have become ever iconic in their own right. Interviews include the likes of Henry Rollins, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and founding members in singer Keith Morris and bass player Chuck Dukowski who each look back on the past and the atmosphere at such an important time in musical history.
