SO JAPAN is the duo behind Rye Rye‘s hit “Better Than You,” who’ve now been tapped for multiple beats on M.I.A’s fourth album. Traveling across New York and New Jersey with their college varsity basketball team, Kyle “Micky Park” Edwards and Courcy Magnus bonded on the long bus rides by slicing open pop songs and teaching each other beat-making techniques. Scouted by Sugu Arulpragasam in 2011, the duo was instantly flown to London to work with Maya on her ViCKi LEEKX mixtape. They soon relocated to Los Angeles where they’ve quickly become highly sought-after producers. Today, we proudly premiere their latest number titled “Hella Bandz,” listen in below.
