At the time of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953, Great Britain – if not the world – was in a period of great transition. Periods of relative prosperity and the advent of modern technologies afforded by preceding wars spawned a new era in production – especially automotive. Both Queen Elizabeth and Triumph Motorcycles have parallel legacies characterized by endurance, strength and innovation in England. In celebrating the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, Italian company Centro Modo Lodi have taken a 2012 Triumph Thruxton and outfitted the retro-inspired model with special nods to the monarch. Highlights of the model include a tank and fender decorated with a collage of newspapers from June 2, 1953 – the date of her majesty’s introduction.
