Together since 2008, the Austin, Texas trio, Speak (not to be confused with LA emcee Speak!) went down the major label road before deciding to take matters in their own hands and going down the indie direction instead. It’s been nearly two years since they last released new music, but from the first listen to “Peaks,” you wouldn’t believe that the hiatus was so long. Comparing their sounds from then to now, you’ll hear the amount of growth and development they’ve made within the past two years as a band, making the anticipation for their newest album, which is set to drop by the end of summer, that much more exciting.
