With the ability to meld together appropriate use of space and melody with seminal genres in UK’s bulging bass scene, Benji Boko — or Boy In A Kung Fu Movie, as his latest alias allows — makes melodic tunes that straddles the line between easy listening and progressive dance music. “Change You” is another one of such offerings, opening listeners’ minds to sonic wilderness, where syncopated drums delve in and out of distant keys while lush vocals take you further into euphoria. We haven’t worked out whether it’s his oversized Afro or Brighton — the bohemian seaside town which Boko resides — that gives his music such compelling delivery. Either way, we’re a fan.
