After a huge amount of hype leading up to its release and a record-breaking 24 hours after its debut late last week, Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” featuring Pharrell and Nile Rodgers is off to an astounding start. With the debut Random Access Memories single on repeat in clubs, iPods, Spotifies, etc. throughout the world, it’s safe to say that everyone is eager for an official music video. We’ve seen a clip of Pharrell wearing a sequin jacket while performing the track alongside the robots and Rodgers on a black backdrop repurposed a few times for promo purposes, but as far as an official, full-length video goes, we don’t have any solid details. One new place that particular aforementioned clip is being put to use is in a fan-made video for “Get Lucky,” which is floating about the ‘net and being applauded for its fitting interpretation of the track. In it, the editor combines the promo shots with scenes of Pharrell from a little-known 2004 short film called Ecology of Love and Daft Punk from their 2006 film, Electroma, to make an impressive visual that should hold you over until the real thing drops. Watch it up top and check back for the official video, hopefully coming soon!
