Bloc Party's Kele Releases World's First Printed 3D Record
Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke has joined forces with singer Bobbie Gordon to become the first artists
Bloc Party‘s Kele Okereke has joined forces with singer Bobbie Gordon to become the first artists to release a track using 3D printing technology. The song is called “Down Boy” and was printed after the duo performed a live version of the cut at the final Bacardi Beginnings Music Project in central London — an initiative that brings together new artists with established acts in order to create in the studio. “Down Boy” marks the very first time an original track has been released in 3D printed format, pushing the current boundaries of 3D printing technology even further. The record was available for purchase at the Bacardi pop-up shop in London this weekend. Proceeds of the limited edition record “Down Boy (Bacardi Beginnings)” will go to the Nordoff Robbins charity, the national music charity dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable adults across the UK through music therapy and services.
