Former Turner Prize nominee and Young British Artists alumni, Ian Davenport is best known for his abstract work that often enlists gravity as a tool to spread paint over canvas. Working on medium density fiberboard and using household gloss paint, Kasmin treats viewers to unique visual experimentation over various paneling projects. In his latest exhibition “Colorfall,” his trademark drip technique is again reinforced. Showing at New York’s Paul Kasmin Gallery, Davenport shows a selection of majestic paintings, enlisting chromatic colors to evenly spill down large surfaces. Each individual stream contrasts with the next, cascading down the canvas before meeting in a melange of colors. The “Colorfall” exhibition is showing from now till October 26, for more information head to Paul Kasmin Gallery.
