Nardwuar kept himself exceptionally busy over the course of SXSW 2012, landing interviews with some of the event’s biggest acts. After having the tables turned on him with a few HYPEBEAST questions, this time, Claire Boucher — better known as Grimes – is on the receiving end of Nardwuar’s rapid-fire questioning and impressively thoughtful gifts, but not just because it’s her birthday. The singer-songwriter and visual artist reminisces about her SXSW 2011 show with Nardwuar, reveals her mother’s stalking habits on Twitter, and shares the first time she’s ever fired a rifle. And quite possibly a first for his videos, Nardwuar isn’t the only one whose voice cracks during the interview.
