Following up on the initial teaser, the second trailer for Zach Snyder’s Man of Steel film was released today. Co-produced by Christopher Nolan, the extended trailer seems to add fuel to the burning anticipation for the film. The trailer does much in the way of detailing how this film will differ from the canon of Superman films; in this interpretation, the emphasis seems to be on Superman (Clark Kent)’s conflict between his powers and being socially accepted. While this notion of alienation has been a running theme of the Superman series in general, it’s interesting to imagine Snyder and Nolan’s take on the issue, given their highly successful superhero adaptations of the past. The trailer should do well to whet the appetites of eager fans before the movie’s 2013 release.
