Having already turned up the Bay Area for the first three episodes of Fresh Off The Boat, Eddie Haung and his VICE web series visits his motherland, Taiwan, to shine the light on its cuisine and idiosyncratic humor. In the first of three Taiwan episodes, Eddie gets hopped up on betel nut, gives a survey of his favorite delicacies at Shilin night market, and goes late night fishing at a shrimping dive. Although Haung went to his blog to state, “I think it’s the pound for pound greatest eating city in the world,” he later mentions however, that the “most under appreciated aspect of Taiwanese culture is the humor.” Let us know what you think and keep an eye out for the second film.
