Thirty years ago, influential industrial designer Dieter Rams created a watch for Braun that perfectly encapsulated his Neo-Bauhaus desire to craft objects that used “as little design as possible.” Now, Braun has reissued the watch, making only minor adjustments to its form — most notably with the addition of a digital LCD screen. While back in 1978 Braun issued just 3,000 examples of the timepiece, they have made the updated version much more readily available, currently retailing for $250 USD on the Vetted online shop. The Braun DW30 Watch will also be made available this August at the MoMA Store.
