Death From Above 1979 Reunion Show Ends in Riot at SXSW
The long overdue stage comeback of Death From Above 1979’s at the South By Southwest
The long overdue stage comeback of Death From Above 1979‘s at the South By Southwest festival on Saturday (March 19) ended up in a literal riot. The Canadian duo played at the Beauty Bar at the Austin even with an alley with a small fence from where people could see what was going on inside the venue located behind. Due to capacity issues, a large number of fans stayed outside the fence to see the band perform. During the set, people on the outside looking in grew restless and tore down the fence. The police were called and officers stormed the stage, asking the band to stop the gig while they dealt with the situation. After it had calmed down, the band was allowed to finish their set.
