Coachella Conversations: Dave 1 & Eric Haze

Chromeo frontman Dave 1 sits down with iconic NYC graffiti artist Eric Haze to talk about the collide of hip-hop and rock ‘n’ roll in the 1980s and why cover art became so important. Dave 1 recalls his first introduction to hip-hop through listening to the Beastie Boys and vividly remembers the illustration that Haze did for the group’s Check Your Head album cover. He also discusses how iconic the artist’s tags were, describing how he and his friends would see them for sale around various skate shops in Montreal.
