After OFWGKTA’s Earl Sweatshirt became a trending topic on Twitter due to an initial exchange between Tyler, the Creator and an Odd Future affiliate @SageElsesser, continuing onto Formspring, where he confirmed that Earl had returned to Los Angeles. The online hysteria that was followed by fans was deemed fruitless by an Odd Future rep, who stated that the entire episode was a prank on Tyler’s part, and the claim that Earl (real name Thebe Kgositsile) was back in LA with Tyler in the studio was a false one. The news that Earl had indeed not returned to California will leave fans further upset that the group is going from strength to strength without what was conceived as one of their most exciting and captivating members.
