Gestalten were given the opportunity at the close of last year to interview famed artist Shepard Fairey. Continuing to provide a social commentary through his eclectic works, Fairey is relentless in his promotion of freedom of speech and speaking out against corporate America. Fairey also details his view on intellectual property, specifically questioning copyright infringement where one work is the product of a transformation of another (a technique he is most famous for, particularly across the several pieces he produced for Obama’s “Hope” campaign). The video not only shares the interview, but also showcases a number of relatively new works.
