The inaugural Eastpak Raf Simons bag team up pushed the boundaries of conventional backpack stylings as over 50 styles with diverse price points were featured. While some bags emanating from the creative thoughts of Belgian designer Raf Simons bordered on the edge of conventionality, the follow-up series from Eastpak Raf Simons features what appears to be more traditional bags over 18 styles. Eastpak 2008 Spring Collection

Despite the debut of a special collection of bags with fashion designer Raf Simons, business is as usual for the first bag makers to utilize Cordura in their construction. A look at their collection for spring includes a series of printed bags. Upon Eastpak's foundation, they were among the first to delve in unconventional prints and colorways. Almost 50 years since its inception, things are pretty much the same. Each of the bags are backed by a 30 year "Built to Resist" warranty. Among the releases is a special joint project with French artist Genvieve Gauckler who's other projects include works with Medicom Toys among others. Available now at Hong Kong's D-Mop.

Raf Simons ‘08 S/S “Material World” Collection by Eastpak

Last year, it was announced that popular fashion designer Raf Simons had created a partnership with bag makers Eastpak on a series of modern and creatively unconventional backpacks. To compliment the designs, the backpacks also include several technical features. A portion of the "Material World" collection has landed at oki-ni. The four different styles carry a price tag not for the faint of heart ranging from £179 to £319 (approximately $348 USD to $621 USD).

Backpack makers Eastpak have put their collabos into overdrive recently releasing a series of bags with European bands Kaiser Chefs, The Prodigy and The Hives. Available at select Eastpak dealers such as D-mop on December 15th with a price of $520 HKD (approximately $66 USD).

Batman x Kinetics x Eastpak Backpack

In association with the latest installment of the Batman series, Dark Knight, backpack makers Eastpak teamed up with Japanese store Kinetics to produce a Batman backpack. The bag captures Batman's well-known symbol in all-over print fashion. The bag will be available December 22nd through Chapter World.

Influential men's contemporary fashion designer Raf Simons has teamed up with backpack makers Eastpak to create a series of bags as part of Raf Simons' 2008 Spring/Summer "Material World" Collection. Originally plying their trade as a bag maker to the military, Eastpak branched out to the consumer in 1976 and now has become a household name in the bag market.
