adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged Experience @ Highline Stages NYC Event Recap
With the appearance of a rare Olympic alternate version of the red Uncaged.
adidas ran through the Chelsea district of NYC on July 7 with its exclusive Ultra Boost Uncaged Experience event at the Highline Stages. The event, which was to commemorate the launch of the Ultra Boost Uncaged silhouette, brought together influencers and spokespeople alike, along with a ton of adidas heat. Of course the original Uncaged Ultra Boost was never official, with examples finding their way into sneakerheads’ collections either via modification or through the release of the HYPEBEAST official UltraBOOST UNCAGED; this event thus revealed the adidas-commissioned model for its core purpose — running.
While guests were treated to an open bar with hors d’oeuvres, the main attraction was an “Escape Room” challenge for team members to solve, with challengers coming out earning a special prize — a rare, Ultra Boost Uncaged model in red with black printed Stripes rather than the ones located normally on the toes. An adidas rep stated that these are only otherwise given to adidas Olympiads for this year’s Games in Rio, so that their podium presence would prominently shine the technology of adidas. Special lace locks, lace tips and a chance to screen print your own adidas socks with a custom image were also great treats to guests, while the fastest team to escape the challenge were further awarded with an exclusive pre-release pair of black, white or red Ultra Boosts (not pictured above) that confirm: colored Boost midsoles are coming.
