George Alvin is the founder of BRACK-MAN, a three-year-old menswear line inspired by his own nickname. Hailing from Essex, Alvin turned away from a successful run at acting that saw him play in the West End in order to pursue a career in design. Graduating from the London College of Fashion and launching his own eponymous line, BRACK-MAN is built upon innovative textiles and simple silhouettes, resulting in clean designs perfect for the modern lad. In this edition of Essentials, we take a look at Alvin’s must-haves and staples.

As a designer, Alvin unsurprisingly carries around a set of notebooks and stationery, and his choice of pen and paper come from Japanese minimalist no-name brand, Muji. But the British bred man’s style exudes a distinctly English aesthetic, with his Doc Marten-inspired Prada boots with an air sole, a simple button-down shirt, and a zip-up jacket. A geometric graphic T-shirt rounds off his clothing staples, as simple as stylish can be. Alvin carries around The Anstey Weston Guide to Textile Terms as an on the go reminder of fashion jargon, along with a copy of Charles Saatchi’s Be The Worst You Can Be for a simple read. Lastly, a stylish pair of custom Cutler & Gross frames and a bright orange CDG zip wallet finishes off his Essentials.
