Petite songstress Jhene Aiko has grown from strength to strength over the past year or so, with collaborations with Drizzy, her debut album, and more. One 2015 musical offering from Aiko, is “Eternal Sunshine,” a stunning track which speaks volumes on the female vocalist’s talents, and unique tone. In the Jay Ahnn-directed clip, the singer revisits a painful moment of her past; as her and her family were victims of a tragic car crash. Jhene also broaches the topic of cancer, which caused her to lose one of her brothers, Miyagi Hasani Ayo Chilombo. R.I.P. Re-enacting these painful moments in her past, Jhene Aiko brings true emotion to the visual, a behind-the-scenes update of which, was premiered earlier this week via The Juice, Billboard. Speaking in the BTS, Aiko states:
“We reenacted the car accident that I was in. I’m ascending from my body. I basically died in this video. Miyoko and Nami, my sister and my daughter… I got them to reenact their parts. I wasn’t driving in the real accident, but for the sake of the video I am. I was in the backseat.”
Watch the video diary below, and catch sight of the pint-sized singer floating over 100m above the scenes, as well as being brought to tears by her memories.
