“Every year in the UK, over 19,000 cyclists are involved in accidents,” begins Volvo‘s video for its proprietary LifePaint spray paint. As part of its efforts to increase road safety, the Swedish car manufacturer has partnered with creative agency Grey London and Albedo100 to release the LifePaint water-based reflective spray, invisible under daylight but shining brightly under the glare of a car’s headlamps at night, behaving in much the same way as 3M reflective fabric. Washing off after 10 days, the spray can be applied to whole bikes, helmets, clothes, shoes and even dog leashes. Currently available from six shops in London and Kent, England, Volvo has promised to increase distribution if the product sells well.
