Sharp has delivered the latest member of their Aquos family of televisions, the Aquos 4K Ultra HD TV. Beating out competition to become the first THX-certified 4K TV screen, this television is more than capable of portraying every movie, show series and video game with staggering detail. ‘4K’ refers to the horizontal resolution of a given format, which are displayed with 4,000 pixels. This means that high quality films (e.g. those shot on RED Cameras) are seen as intended on 4K Ultra televisions. Sharp’s particular model houses an LED display, built-in Wi-Fi technology, a 35-watt speaker system, and is capable of 3D display. With retail set for $8,000 USD, the Sharp Aquos 4K Ultra HD TV isn’t the most affordable model, but the value of having the best display in your locale is priceless. The 70” TV is set to release in mid-August.
