A little over a month ago, we previewed visvim‘s “Dissertation on Symbolism and our Prayer flag,” the cult label’s flag-laden collection for Spring/Summer 2013. This season’s lookbook has now been released in its entirety, offering fans a closer look at Hiroki Nakamura‘s detail-obsessed, globetrotting designs. While the label riffs once again on traditional Americana — vintage flag prints, plaid shirts, denim jackets, moccasin-inspired footwear — and heritage Japanese garments, spring/summer’s ethnic influences are as diverse as ever (the flag of the United Nations even appears in one of the looks). These wide-ranging references show up in the form of blankets, scarves, and embroidered details on sleeves and collars, offering pops of color and pattern to go with the collection’s washed-out hues for the season. And, for fans of visvim’s footwear, the label’s ever-popular silhouettes resurface in new colorways and materials with updated iterations of the SKAGWAY, PATRICIAN WT HI-FOLK and Skynard Ring Moccasin-Folk. visvim’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection is available now from the label’s recently-launched webshop and at select stockists worldwide.
