Branded an international automotive hub for the better part of the last century, Detroit has also become a sort of forum-like domain for the controversial industry having hosted product detailing auto shows since 1907. Now in its 24th year, the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) focuses on redefining what it means to be a consumer-driven international trade show through the introduction of bold new ways to “enhance attendees’ experiences and deliver exceptional value to media, industry and the public.” Opening its Cobo Center doors on January 14, this year’s show featured over 500 new model upgrades from 40 manufacturers, daily admissions totaling over 100,000, a slew of concepts, millions of dollars raised for charity, and imaginative exhibits that included Toyota’s “Drive Land” motion-controlled game and Kia’s dancing hamsters. Now in its final week, HYPEBEAST was in attendance during its press week to capture some outstanding images of the various unveiling automobiles which included Chevy’s Corvette Stingray, the Ford Atlas, and Acura’s NSX among many more.
