Yatzer: The Book Club (TBC) London

London’s The Book Club (TBC) isn’t exactly your conventional book club. In fact, it’s hardly a book club at all. Part all-day bar, part exhibition space and part dive bar, TBC is a unique amalgam of industrial architectural whimsy and Victorian-age drinking frivolity. The space’s interior design and creative direction were managed by Shai Akram, who used the multi-level space repurposed from a turn-of-the-century warehouse, to implement a canteen, a full bar, a table tennis area, and a lounge in an airy and naturally lit space for its clientele to freely mingle and interact. Already, the space is being called the “slightly smarter sibling of the Queen of Hoxton (another East End institution),” for its eclectic flavor and clever design.
