Maharishi founder and historian on camouflage Hardy Blechman has returned once again for a new collection of technical apparel in this 2008 DPM x Penfield collection. Utilizing similar designs as last year, this new capsule overs a more varied product release including Filmore board shorts, the Hopewell hoodie, Redwood t-shirt and Skiff Two jacket. Prices range from $38 USD for the t-shirt all the way to $158 USD for the hoodie. The items are set to release at Bodega, Reed Space, Commonwealth, Livestock and Digital Gravel.
A departure from their previous more minimalistic collections, Penfield has created the all new Fullspin Winderbreaker. The nylon body features a mesh lining with many colors forming the body of the jacket. Mis-matched pocket colors and paneling is prevalent and will be your saving grace in the unlikely situation you get lost.
Penfield was first established in Massachusetts, USA back in 1975 and since then have built a name for itself for creating high quality down-filled jackets. This Fall/Winter 2007 season, they have made a strong push in releasing jackets with independent companies like DPM. Now, Penfield has created two exclusive jackets which are only available at The-Glade. The two styles include the Novi down jacket and the Rockford. The Rockford gets its inspiration from classic western shirts while the Novi is more of a heavy duty down jacket with a slimmer fitting. Available now at The-Glade.
One doesn’t have to look far to find the integration of technology and style. Penfield has utilized Schoeller 3X Dry technology and created a set of hoodies and crewnecks which feature similar feel and wear as conventional materials with the added benefit of water resistant and moisture wicking properties. The designs seen here is a re-inspiration of Penfields’ “Downstroke Camo” by Hardy Blechman of Maharishi. These should be available in stores soon..
