Lotta Volkova has been the go-to stylist and muse for Demna Gvasalia’s Vetements and Balenciaga. The 32-year-old creative is seen as an icon in the industry for making the normcore-meets-club kid-meets-punk aesthetic the thing kids in Eastern Europe want to wear — think track trousers worn with cowboy boots, cocoon-like down jackets with tweed mini skirts, or floral dresses worn with denim vests. It’s modern day gypsy chic and the industry can’t get enough of it as seen with the popularity of Balenciaga and the styles of Russian youth. Plus, with co-signs from the likes of Gosha Rubchinskiy, Kanye West and Rei Kawakubo, Volkova’s “odd” sense of style is only starting to take over fashion on a global scale.

This year, adidas took notice of Volkova’s far-reaching influence and collaborated with the celebrity stylist. The collection of footwear and apparel in the partnership is a reflection of the creative’s daring and uncompromising aesthetic. The range includes contrasting colorways of the Trefoil Mule, a heeled reinterpretation of the iconic adilette. The SL72 sneaker which is a ‘70s design features a retro look with uppers accented by suede and leather details. For the clothing, loose tracksuits, jumpsuits and windbreakers are included. Asymmetric tops, swimsuits and ice-skating inspired dresses in vibrant colors round out the apparel lineup. Lastly, ccessories like retro leg warmers, foldable clutches and table tennis handbags complete the entire range for fun and sporty ensembles.
