There seems to be an infinite amount of tricks up artist Cali Thornhill DeWitt’s sleeve. When he’s not creating and showing his art at galleries, DeWitt gets heavily involved with making new pieces with his fashion cohorts in LA or Japan. He’s done work with NEIGHBORHOOD, ROKIT, Guess Jeans U.S.A. and Converse to name a few.
This year, the L.A. artist focused heavily on fashion, although he did show some new artworks at COMMON in Tokyo for a politically-charged exhibit called “TOKYO OLYMPICS.” The event coincided with a pop up activation at retailer GR8 for the release of new SAINT MICHAEL pieces. The fledgling brand is a collaborative effort between DeWitt and Yuta Hosokawa of READYMADE. SAINT MICHAEL still has a lot of room for growth and 2020 was just a start off point. Yet, the label is already making major strides as retailers such as NUBIAN, UNITED ARROWS & SONS, cherry and more are already carrying some of its first designs. Rapper Rich the Kid too have answered the collaboration call and teased an upcoming SAINT MICHAEL shirt featuring his name surrounded by artful motifs.
