AMBUSH’s Verbal & Yoon enjoyed an especially fruitful 2018, Yoon in particular. Not only did AMBUSH partner with Amazon for Tokyo Fashion Week — the tech giant’s first major fashion collaboration in Japan — but Yoon was tapped by Kim Jones to become Dior’s head menswear jewelry designer. Though it premiered in June, the house’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection enjoyed much acclaim, thanks in part to clothing designed in partnership with ALYX’s Matthew Williams and KAWS. Yoon also took the lead on AMBUSH’s collaboration with Nike, which yielded a collaborative Air Max 180 and covetable layering pieces, including a reversible fur jacket. Celebrities like Michael B. Jordan and A$AP Rocky wore AMBUSH garments and jewelry alike, while Dover Street Market New York hosted a special installation of the brand’s summer range, underlining AMBUSH’s fully-realized transition from silver artisans to ready-to-wear powerhouse.
