In 2017, Stone Island further expanded its reach and influence in fashion thanks to its partnership with Drake. But Carlo Rivetti, the name behind the label, has worked meticulously on the line’s offerings throughout the calendar year to show new limits of creativity. Starting with the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, Rivetti and his team came out of the gates charging with bright pastels, hand corrosion pieces, and a memorable 3M jacket with chest pockets that looked combat ready. Stone Island followed up that collection with a NikeLab Sock Dart collaboration and transitioned quickly into Shadow Project and Marina collections that brought out extremely technical design elements and a reinterpretation of stripes. For Fall/Winter 2017, Rivetti cooked up a fully waterproof nylon metal flock jacket, bright hued hoodie and jacket essentials, Check Grid Camo pieces, and a Frost and Ghost collection. Finally, as if all that difficult designing wasn’t enough of a challenge, Stone Island dropped off a Supreme collaboration to fanfare all over the world.
