Having made its New York Fashion Week Debut in 2016, MISBHV has become one of the most sought-after brands in contemporary fashion. Natalia Maczek & Thomas Wirski started the brand five or so years ago as a side project, creating a small line of T-shirts for close friends to wear in clubs. And how do two law students take the fashion world by storm? It’s their fresh, yet familiar DIY approach, experimenting with always in-trend materials like leather and denim. Their aesthetic, unique as it is, harks back to their days as teenagers, club-hopping in Eastern Europe, so you’ll see a lot of exaggerated and elongated silhouettes, unconventional pockets, shiny patent leather, motocross inspirations, oversized tops and more. Although they’ve built a strong brand name in Europe, MISBHV’s showing in New York this past September should indicate they’re looking to take over American fashion, and with celebrities like Kylie Jenner and A$AP Rocky supporting the movement, it’s only a matter of time.
