The brand’s signature outlook on the negative aspects of life has bred a whole new subculture of introverted streetwear, relying more on messaging and tone than flashy graphics and technical wear. While 2015 saw the inception of the “life project,” 2016 brought ASSC to the masses due to clever release schedules and outlets, along with collaborative efforts with respected brands like Period Correct, Cactus Plant Flea Market and Penthouse magazine. Notable cosigns from influentials Cara Delevingne, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West didn’t hurt either. With consistently sold-out collections and a fanbase that reaches the farthest corners of the world, Neek’s Club of downers is only getting larger and weirder.
