Curiously enough Atsuhiko Mori’s career was far-removed from fashion until his retirement as a professional soccer player in 1997. What began as a passionate dive into the fashion world with fellow soccer player Keiji Ishizuka, who has since left the label, is now a full-fledged menswear label representing the epitome of what it means to be a bad-ass in modern-day Japan. After almost 10 years in the business WACKO MARIA opened up its first brick and mortar location “PARADISE TOKYO,” cementing its ever-growing legacy in one of Tokyo’s most trendy areas. Following a slew of releases celebrating the milestone, the brand also enlisted the likes of N.HOOLYWOOD, nonnative, UNDERCOVER, Converse and controversial artist Neckface for seasonal collaborations.
