Y-3 has brought back the Yuuto, an archived 15-year-old Y-3 x adidas silhouette known for its progressive geometric design. Revived by Yohji Yamamoto, the sneaker returns in a triple black colorway with touches of red accenting the collaborative line’s signature dual branding.
The Yuuto is split into two sections — a coated textile upper on the front delivers a retro aesthetic with its rubberized locks gracing the vamp and tongue, while the rear is made from mesh and sports geometric plastic overlays. The sneaker features concealed internal lacing and sits atop an adiPRENE sole unit which continues the geometric theme thanks to triangular inserts all around.
Its sole unit is made from lightweight EVA which provides impact absorption and in-step support. Y-3 and adidas finish off the Yuuto with a rubberized toe cap, a contemporary take on a waffled outsole and dual branding, which sees a red adidas EQT motif on the tongue and Yamamoto’s signature on the lateral side. Pick up the Y-3 Yuuto from retailers such as aphrodite1994 for $368 USD now.
