On the heels of joint efforts with Timberland and Dickies Japan,
mastermind JAPAN continues rolling out impactful collaborations as the year winds up. This time, the label recruited Californian designer
Greg Lauren for a richly-deconstructed collection of layering pieces and pants pieced together from mastermind’s archive of wares.
Comprising over a half-dozen different styles, the capsule includes mash-ups of various mastermind staples, including hoodies, leather jackets, military jackets and jeans. For instance, one style juxtaposes a red flannel shirt base against a heavily-distressed denim shirt at the bottom, a built-in black hood (one emblazoned with mastermind’s skull logo) and layered sweater sleeves, complete with cut-off mastermind branding.
Other pieces include a twist on Lauren’s signature denim jean/sweat pant hybrid, a trucker jacket pieced together with one of Lauren’s signature vintage military layers and one standout item that stitches together military cargo pockets (complete with partial blanket lining), a denim kimono placket and a gem-studded mastermind leather jacket.
Greg Lauren x mastermind JAPAN is available in-store at
