Continuing to roll out brutalist-inspired pieces from its SS20 collection, like the Corbusier Hi Sneakers or the recently unveiled tote bag, Samuel Ross‘ A-COLD-WALL* is back with its latest seasonal piece — a gray buttoned desert hat.

Reflecting the raw and bare concrete shade often seen in brutalist architecture, this hat has been given a soft gray colorway, accented by hits of silver-toned hardware. The top part of the hat sees a sleek five-panel construction with a slightly curved brim, complemented by a detachable lower half that comes with a tall neck warmer. The center of the hat is stamped with a double-stacked “ACW”-debossed metal plate, crafted in a rounded diamond shape. Wrapping around the lower sides of the cap are a set of metal snap buttons that allow the wearer to detach the extra fabric below. As a final note, the piece sees geometric ear holes and an opening around the upper face, while the lower half conceals everything below the wearer’s nose and mouth to shield against harsh weather.
